Position summary

The Engage division is actively recruiting for a publications expert to oversee and drive the successful delivery of a portfolio of publications accounts at various stages in the product life cycle. The key elements for this role focus on account strategic planning, client relationship building, mentoring and support of line reports and team members, and business development within the assigned portfolio. The Portfolio Director will collaborate with scientific lead counterparts that along with the Division Head, champion business development in support of the assigned portfolio of accounts and the division. Key responsibilities

In the Client Solutions Portfolio Director role you:
• Drive the overarching strategic and tactical direction across the assigned portfolio in collaboration with your scientific counterpart to provide expert client counsel, and recommend communication approaches for optimal support of the client’s strategic objectives. We work collaboratively with our clients, so you can expect your ideas to be welcomed and encouraged
• Oversee activities of team(s) (in partnership with the relevant scientific leads) across the assigned portfolio to ensure alignment with client and EPG objectives, and deployment of team members for optimal efficiency and quality of outputs
• Serve as a hands-on account lead on specified programs/accounts within the assigned portfolio, and develop strong working relationships with your clients to support the development of exceptional scientific and plain language publications that inform, educate, and support decision-making to improve patient care
• Participate in or lead new business proposals and presentation development, and present to client where required
• Lead ongoing financial management of business across the assigned portfolio to meet financial goals
• Have access and gain exposure to all areas of Envision, including subject matter experts and thought leaders in patient engagement, market intelligence, and behavioral science to support your professional development and account growth
• Provide mentorship/training to junior members of the Client Solutions team

Skills and experience required

• At least 8–10 years of prior experience in a client-facing account services role in a medical communications or publications agency environment
• Experience leading large and complex publications programs (preferably in a global environment) including the strategic planning and management/delivery of abstracts, posters, video/audio-enhanced publications, manuscripts, and congress presentations. Experience with plain language summaries of publications is preferred
• Experience growing accounts and leading new business development activities successfully
• Excellent financial acumen including forecasting in support of business planning
• Able to lead and motivate teams to deliver effectively
• Possess the confidence to discuss strategy with clients and provide counsel
• Proven line management experience – this individual will have one to three direct reports
• Datavision experience is preferred, or experience in another publication management system
• Excellent project planning and project management skills, highly organized with an ability to multitask
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to think creatively and innovatively to solve client challenges
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
