Position summary

As an Account Director/Senior, you'll be assigned to manage and lead (in partnership with Scientific team counterparts) one or more client accounts within a business division. This role leads client relationship building and oversees all aspects of client service to ensure that both the client’s and Envision Pharma Group's strategic objectives are met. The Account Director/Senior partners with others to resolve account-related issues and to manage the deployment of available resources for successful delivery. A key focus of this role is management of the commercial direction and growth of business with the assigned client(s).

Key responsibilities

• Applies a thorough understanding of client’s overall strategic commercial/medical and communication objectives, and the healthcare market in which the client operates
• Serves as a day-to day contact for client, alongside the account Scientific lead, liaising directly with client on service delivery as appropriate
• Partners with Scientific lead to oversee activities of team across assigned account(s), to ensure alignment with client and EPG objectives, and deployment of team members for optimal efficiency and quality of outputs, providing guidance and making decisions as necessary
• Leads preparation for and execution of client meetings, acting as facilitator as appropriate
• Drives overarching strategic and tactical direction across assigned account(s), in collaboration with the relevant Scientific lead
• Maintains strategic understanding of client business and applies this to provide expert client counsel and to recommend communication approaches that meet client’s strategic objectives
• Serves as the client relationship owner on assigned account(s)
• Leads the ongoing financial management of assigned account(s) to meet financial goals (includes preparation of scopes of work and budgets, negotiation with client, budget and out-of-scope tracking, reconciliation, and invoicing)
• Drives organic business growth by identifying and proactively pursuing opportunities
• Ensures the well-being of team, providing support and guidance as required

Skills and experience required

• Typically at least 5 years of prior experience in an account leadership role in a medical communications agency environment
• Experience leading large programs, preferably in a global environment, and gained across both publications deliverables
• Experience growing accounts successfully
• Experience mentoring and/or line managing others
• Able to manage complex delivery programs
• Excellent financial acumen
• Able to lead and motivate teams to deliver
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact confidently and appropriately with colleagues across the business
• Strong decision-making and critical thinking
• Able to think creatively and innovate
• Able to build strong, positive relationships with client and other external stakeholders
• Ability and confidence to discuss strategy with client and provide counsel
