MedComms Day 2026: Celebrating 5 years of investing in the next generation of professionals with Envision Evolve

A look back at how the key development program has supported over 170 colleagues since its launch
4 minute read

On June 24, the medcomms community comes together for the 15th annual MedComms Day, a global celebration of the professionals who shape how science is communicated throughout healthcare.

At Envision Medical Communications (EMC), part of Envision Pharma Group, this year’s moment feels particularly meaningful. Our learning and career program, Envision Evolve, turns five in 2026, and it’s a milestone worth reflecting on.

We know that strong medical communications are built with care, discipline, and knowledge. The quality of our work matters, but quality doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from high standards, deliberate training, and genuine investment in people.

That belief sits at the heart of Envision Evolve, our technical learning pathway that is designed to support continuous growth and career progression for all team members involved in the development of scientific content and client delivery.

Evolve for new starters focuses on building the technical foundations, judgment, and confidence that are required to do our work well in a fast‑moving and highly regulated environment. By embedding structured training from the outset, we enable fairer progression, stronger performance, and sustainable career growth for individuals, while also strengthening the quality, integrity, and credibility of the work we deliver to clients.

5 years of impact and growth

Over the past 5 years, Evolve has become a core part of how we support our entry‑level colleagues. What began as a pilot program has now supported more than 170 team members across EMC, providing them with a consistent foundation for their careers.

Through a blend of live sessions and on‑demand learning, Evolve has helped new starters feel equipped as they transition into their roles, connect beyond their immediate teams, and develop the skills needed to contribute meaningfully to client delivery.

We’re proud of the role it plays in setting our people up for success, not just at the start of their journey, but as part of our broader commitment to learning, growth, and long‑term development at Envision. Through Evolve, we’re investing not only in skills, but in the people and the professional standards that will shape the future of medical communications.

Reflecting on the Evolve experience

To mark both the program’s anniversary and MedComms Day, we invited colleagues to reflect on their Evolve journey and what it has meant for their progression. Here’s what they had to say:

Andy Brown | Evolve Technical Trainer

In today’s fast-moving environment, I believe that providing new starters with structured, competency-based training is more important than ever. That’s why I’m incredibly proud of what Envision Evolvehas achieved over the past 5 years.

Evolve is designed to support new starters as they begin their careers. It helps them build confidence, develop capability, and feel connected from day one. It’s been inspiring to see the impact across our teams, and I’m excited to see how Evolve continues to grow.

Gary Dever | Line Manager

I’ve seen real benefit from Envision Evolve in supporting associate medical writers as they start their careers. It gives them a structured foundation, builds confidence early, and helps line managers support ongoing development in a more focused way.

Madison Sumatra | Account Executive

Envision Evolve has been incredibly helpful. I never had anything like this at my previous company, and I would have loved to have had something similar there.

It was great having training sessions, and I genuinely looked forward to them each week. Even though I had prior medical communications experience, I already feel like I’ve learned so much more.

Alasdair Gunn | Associate Medical Writer

Envision Evolve has been really helpful – I have learned a lot! I really appreciated the time and effort put into making such a comprehensive and clear set of sessions.

This isn’t the first company that I have worked for, but it is the first that has such a course for junior staff members, and it is a really good thing.
